We line up just like the real thing taking the stage in the same spots as our inspiration.
Looking at the stage, from right to left:
Julian Bardi on Bass- Julian rather resembles Bill Wyman. He plays like him too and that suits us just fine. Like the original, Julian is the senior member of the band, though he’s also the newest member of our little show. But he keeps quiet, and will actually practice the songs, so we keep inviting him to the gigs.
Jim Tomich on Guitar and Vocals – Its Keith! He scrawny, obnoxious, and too loud, an accurate rendition to be sure. Jim has seen the Stones on numerous occasions throughout their illustrious career and brings that special insight. That’s why he went looking for some chewing gum just before we did the shoot. Oh yes and the ‘just like the record’ guitar licks are most timely.
Dan Santoro on Drums – Our very own ‘Mr. Machine’, Dan comes from a long line of rhythmically oriented Canadian’s, eh? A thoroughly excellent rock and roll drummer with just the right edge, he’s about as close to Charlie Watts as you can get; same weird skeletal look too, except for the tan.
Jimmy Jensen on Guitar, Keyboards, and Vocals – He’s in Ron Wood’s position, but it’s also known as ‘the dead guy’s spot’. Jimmy is quite far from that. Besides the guitar work, he doubles on the keys, and adds a voice - quite unlike the dead guys.
Earl Wright on Saxophones, Keyboards, Guitar, and Vocals – it’s not possible to say enough about this guy, just ask him. He’s in the Ernie Watts, Bobby Keys, icing on the cake spot. All that plus the guy has the good ear and fine-tunes our PA. Good thing he covers so many things so well. He’s also a whining, over-bearing prima-dona. Oh well, who isn’t?
Brett Baker on Lead Vocals – This guy is all over the place and you know why. He shamelessly falls right into the ‘Mick-isms’ no matter the locale, be it hamburger joint or banquet room. Perhaps he’s not acting the part at all but actually in some sort of trance where he’s channeling the real thing. Oh, it could just some leftover teenage angst. We may never know. Start me up!
